Where does the data come from?

Direct from SEC EDGAR XBRL filings (10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, 40-F). We parse the raw XBRL, map every filer’s GAAP tags to one consistent schema, and expose it as JSON.

How fresh is the data?

New filings typically show up within a day. A daily job scans SEC EDGAR’s index files and re-ingests every company that filed in the last 48 hours; a full-universe refresh runs every Sunday at 02:00 UTC as a safety net. Ingest stays under the SEC’s documented 10 req/sec limit.

Data Quality Score — a 0-100 rating per filing with flags for restatements, missing concepts, balance-sheet imbalance, and unusual reporting. Use it to decide programmatically when to trust a number.

How is the data normalized across filers?

A maintained TAG_MAP collapses synonymous GAAP concepts. Apple’s RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax, Tesla’s Revenues, and other variants all become Revenue. Per-share figures are split-adjusted to the current basis for comparability.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Subscriptions are month-to-month via Stripe. Cancel from the billing page and keep access through the end of the current period.

What happens if I exceed my rate limit?

You get a 429 response with a Retry-After header. No silent drops, no overage charges.

Can I use this commercially?

During the free beta, yes — including commercial use, at no charge. When paid plans launch in October 2026, commercial use moves to a paid tier; the permanent free tier is for personal projects, research and evaluation.
